Four months’ notice to get a builder, says report
In October 2017 the Federation of Master Builders, in an article in Homebuilding and Renovating Magazine, stated: “More than 40% of builders need at least four months’ notice from homeowners who want to hire their firm.”
Here at homebuilding essentials we think it’s great that the industry is busy, and that capable contractors are getting booked-up, and we’re not surprised that some building companies need four months’ notice. Our advice is, if you are looking to carry out building work, it’s important that you know when in the process you need to start looking for a good for builder, how to find them, what to ask for, and what to look out for.
Tip: follow our Plan It module project tracker to find and secure your builder at the right time.
